What is LED track Light?

LED track lights are a great way to add lighting to your home or office. They are versatile and highly effective for a wide variety of places in the home or office, offering nearly infinite possibilities for modern illumination.

LED track lighting heads use light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to produce light. LEDs are more energy-efficient than traditional incandescent bulbs and have a longer lifespan. LED track lighting heads are more expensive than incandescent heads, but they can save you money in the long run.

The track system concentrates light where it is most needed and avoids therefore over illumination where it is not required. Track lights let you position the lights to draw the eye to a perfectly lit area. Wall wash lighting makes rooms appear larger, lighter and more airy. It’s commonly used to highlight paintings and photographs.

LED track lights are versatile and can be used in many different settings. They are commonly used in commercial settings such as retail stores, art galleries, museums, and offices. They can be used for accent lighting to highlight artwork or products. They can also be used for ambient lighting to create a warm and inviting atmosphere¹. LED track lights can be used for wall washing effect to make rooms appear larger, lighter and more airy. They can also be used for hallway lighting, wall grazing effect, halo effect, and more.

LED track lights have many benefits. They are energy-efficient and use up to 80% less energy than halogen lamps. They are also low maintenance and have a longer lifespan than traditional lighting. LED track lights are also flexible and can be easily adjusted with just a turn of the light head or angled to precisely illuminate any area. They concentrate light where it is most needed and avoid over-illumination where it is not required. LED technology allows us to create lamps that emit either warm or cool light.

In commercial settings, LED track lights can help businesses save money by reducing energy consumption and minimizing heat production. They are also efficient, secure, and environmentally friendly.

There are several differences between LED track lights and traditional lighting. Here are some of them:

Energy efficiency: LED lighting is much more energy-efficient than traditional lighting such as halogen lamps, incandescent bulbs, and fluorescent tubes. LEDs use about 75% less energy than traditional light bulbs. They also produce little to no heat waste, making them a much more energy-efficient light source for your home.

Lifespan: LED lights have a significantly longer lifetime than traditional lighting. LEDs can last up to 50,000 hours while traditional bulbs typically last around 1,000-2,000 hours1. This means that LED lights will need to be replaced far less often than traditional bulbs providing further cost savings over the long term1.

Brightness: Traditional incandescent bulb brightness is measured in watts. Because LEDs use far less energy than incandescents, a better way to gauge the brightness of LED bulbs is to compare lumens3. For example, a traditional 60-watt light bulb will emit around 700-lumens.

Heat production: Halogen track light bulbs give off more heat than other types of bulbs4. LED bulbs pull less electricity, so they’re cheaper to run. They also have a longer lifespan than track lights with incandescent bulbs. You’ll have to change the bulbs far less often.

Here are some general steps to install LED track lights:

Turn off power to the area where you’ll be working for safety.
Before starting to install your track lighting, find your circuit breaker box.
Your breaker box may be in your garage, basement, a storage room, or a hallway.
It is a metal box, usually flush with the wall.
Remove the wall switch that controls the existing light fixture.
Drill a ½-inch-diameter hole into the wall close to the ceiling. Position the hole at the starting point of the track-lighting system.
Attach the mounting plate to the ceiling using screws and anchors.
Attach the track to the mounting plate using screws and anchors.
Secure the track by driving set screws into it.
Twist on the live-end connector.
Attach a corner connector if needed.

Twist on your LED lights.
